Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year – but this past Christmas was a stressful one! And the stress didn’t have anything to do with the guests or the cleaning or the cooking or the running/driving around. I would love to hear how you handle stress …because, when I am stressed; I have a bad habit of trying to keep busy by cleaning, cooking, even trimming bushes outside when temps are in the 30’s, and – forgetting to eat. Yup, as much as I love food, I seem to forget about it when I am stressed!

24HourEsterC-LettingGo-Support

You see, this past Christmas break, my daughter took and past her driving road test; and now she is the proud (and gregarious) holder of a shining new driving license! Yes, she is happy – but me, I am STRESSED! Now, don’t get me wrong, after hours and hours practicing, she is a very careful driver, but, it’s hard for me to prepare for what I cannot predict and other drivers “abilities” are one of those things I cannot predict.

#24HourEsterC-Healthy-Choice

Yesterday, she drove to the grocery store to pick up eggs for me and I hate to admit – I timed her! In my no-sense-logic, I figured if she didn’t come back in 15 minutes (the grocery store is less than 4 minutes from us), I would start stressing – till then I would breath – and cook- and give my compromised immune system some immune support with some Ester-C!

I am not one to shy away from my veggies and fruits, but when stress comes to visit, coffee and oats with chocolate (after all, STRESSED is DESSERTS spelled backwards) become my best friends when I do remember to eat. And, I know I need to amp up my vitamin C stores with a supplement, so I reach for Ester-C which I picked up from my neighborhood Walmart store. Ester-C seems to be easier on my stomach and provides 24-Hour Immune system support*.

EsterC-Breakfast

This New Year, I really need to work on letting go, on really trusting The Big Guy, and hoping my daughter will be okay when she is out and about, and stop timing her when she goes to the grocery store …and start supporting my immune system as I work through trying to alleviate my stress! “After all, you don’t want your immune system unsupported when you need it most.”*

Congratulations to your daughter on obtaining her driver’s licence. That’s excellent news but as a mother of two young drivers, I also know that’s stressful. I get stressed all the time with young adults in the house and so I take supplements also as I know stress lowers your immune system xx

I’m with you – so exciting when our kids start driving but also stressful. I make Jordan text me when he gets somewhere (even the store) and then when he is leaving – that way I only have to be stressed during the drive time. So far he has done a great job with the driving and remembering to text me:)

Kim – my daughter just started driving to school and back and I have asked her to do the same – in the morning, she texts me – but in the afternoon she calls – works well for us too – but I sure do miss giving her a ride wherever she needed to go – cos that driving time was our talking time – and we run our mouths ALOT!

It’s tough to accept that the young ones can be trusted to make good decisions but they can. You’ve taught her well and your trust is the most important thing you can give her. She’ll earn it, I just know.

I eat a lot of Vitamin C and it helps. πŸ™‚

Omg… I am so glad I am several years away from dealing with my kids driving. I can imagine the stress. My father would make me call him before I left the house and as soon as I returned. Those were the days before cell phones. When the day comes for my kids to drive, I may need to buy shares in Ester C!

Haha – maybe I should buy shares in Ester C now? I’ve decided to have my daughter text/call me before she goes anywhere and when she reaches her destination.

Wait, you live in Atlanta and actually expected to be able to get to the grocery store and back in 15 minutes? Lies I say!! We lived pretty close to several big grocery stores, and I swear it was always at least a 1-hour trip. But congrats to lil Shashi getting her first driver’s license. I know you’ve taught her well. πŸ™‚

P.S. I totally need to check out that Ester C…I can’t afford to get sick right now!!

See – y’all are just gonna have to move next door and see for yourselves! I live in Metropolitan Atlanta – which includes suburbia ;), and we happen to have gotten really lucky in having a Kroger walking distance from us – though in the winter, us cold wimps drive there! My mom lives in town and you are right – it’s nuts getting in and out of parking lots!
      Thanks David!

Eeks, I am already stressing right now over my son starting school in September so I can only imagine how I would feel once he gets his driver’s license. Congrats to your daughter though and good luck sweetie. Loading up with vitamin C sounds like a great way to deal with stress!

Oooh, I know all about being stressed, but I bet it’s magnified by about 1000 when you have a child. I think it just goes with the territory, but it’s good to find ways to ‘temper’ the stress, that’s for sure!
Have a great (stress-free) weekend, Shashi!

Stress is a tricky tricky thing. I don’t feel stressed right now, I feel happy. But I have been suffering from stomach pain worse than normal and a lot of people ask me if I am stressed out. Perhaps I am stressed but it’s just bubbling inside of me!

Congrats to your daughter for getting her shiny new drivers license. For you, I will get a bottle of color back to combat the stress. Lucky for me we live in Asia, or I would need something a little stronger than color back for my hair to get over the experience. We do not even own a car here in Asia. I send my boys off on a bus, train, taxi or boat every day and somehow they always seem to head back home when they are hungry..

Ha! If you were my neighbor and stressed, I would ask you to come by my house and I would make us some treats while you can help me clean and both of us would distress and feel happy. I always forget to take my dietary supplement but with such a flashy packaging this would not happen. πŸ™‚

I have been knocked out by stress and it can hit me hard too. Ester C is indeed the answer but I don’t think its available over here. I do believe in supplements and I am taking some.
