Disclaimer: This post is a review for AMRAP Nutrition Bars. I was given the opportunity to participate in this review through my Sweat Pink Ambassadorship and was provided with a sample of each of AMRAP’s Nutrition Bars. I received no other compensation for this review and all opinions are 100% my very own.
A few years back, I was fortunate to cross paths with “Ms Jackie”. “Ms Jackie” was a first grade teacher who taught me the beauty behind the “un-birthday”. Every year on her birthday, she would celebrate her students’ “un-birthday”. She would get every one of her students a little “un-birthday” present – sometimes, it was a fancy pencil, sometimes it was a mini coloring book – never anything too fancy but yet a reminder that, to her, they were the special part of her birthday.
Now, you might be wondering what on earth an un-birthday present has to do with an AMRAP bar review – ….well, this week happens to be my birthday week, so I am taking a page out of “Ms. Jackie’s” book and hosting a giveaway for these AMRAP bars – one lucky winner will be on the receiving end of an “un-birthday” present of a 12 pack of these “The 100% Paleo, NonGMO, glutenfree, dairyfree, preservative and artificial anythingfree, high fat to carb ratio, high protein” bars (a $48 value) – please scroll down for deets on entering!!!
I adore all sorts of bars – and usually make my own, but every now and then, I tend to grab one from a grocery store, and I have noticed that there are quite a few bars out there with a host of ingredients I cannot pronounce!
So when the chance to try these bars came my way – well – how could I say no!?
AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) Bars – hold their philosophy in their name! These nutrient dense, clean, high-quality natural protein packed bars taste a lot like Larabars and currently come in 3 flavors:
“The Cashew Vanilla Bar has egg whites that are packed with protein to increase muscle mass while cashews and coconut work together to help to maximize energy, aid in muscle synthesis, and provide you with macronutrients”
“The Fig and Cacao bar promotes cardiovascular health and has high fiber content, and is rich in phyto-nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins. Dates and cocao also work together to remove free radicals and reduce inflammation”
“The Almond Honey Bar contains sea salt, cinnamon, and raw honey that work together to provide essential micro minerals to re-balance electrolytes, limit rises in blood sugar, and maintain glycogen levels that improve athletic recovery time”
These bars were quite tasty on their own – but – maybe it was because of their high fat to carb ratio – I got full quick!
So, the following day, I ground up half of each bar in a blender and used them to make pancakes!
I used the recipe from my Oatmeal Pancakes (found here) and just added the ground up bars to it. I topped the pancakes with melted peanut butter and melted chocolate and a partay happened in my mouth! Not to mention I stayed full well into the afternoon!
To win one AMRAP Bar Variety Pack (12 bars / $48 value), please leave me a separate comment for any or ALL (more chances to win) of the following methods of entry:
Giveaway runs till 9/12/2014 • Giveaway sponsored by AMRAP nutrition and open to entrants in the United States – so sorry my out of continent friends!
