ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Creams are a delicious, guiltless, low fat, high protein treat and two flavors of them go into this Chocolate Avocado Ice cream Smoothie Bowl!
The sun rises and it sets…and just like that another day goes by. For me, these days seem to be going by way, way, way too fast.
And, I wish I could slow things down.
You see, there’s just a few more months before my daughter goes off to college and takes a break from being in my every day.
And, I will miss her.
I will miss her coming home from school, famished, foraging through the fridge while she deconstructs her day. Sometimes, she is so famished, we end up having “linner” while she tells me what made her laugh so hard that tears stained the paper she was working on. And then, there are those times when she will dig into the freezer and pull out one of her favorite ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Creams, and ponder over the fact that she cannot understand why some people think more about what other people think, more than actually thinking about other people. Yes, this child of mine is a deep one indeed.
This past Friday, as she was pondering about people and their thinking, she asked if I could help her make a feel-good snack with tasty ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Creams instead of enjoying them straight up like she usually does.
ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream is a revolutionary high-protein blend that combines delicious taste, powerful nutrition, clean ingredients, and a touch of delight. I pick up 14 oz containers of ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream from the freezer section (near the ice cream and frozen yogurt) at my neighborhood Kroger store. Each serving of ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream contains 10g of protein (35g of protein per container) and is a good source of fiber. ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream is a low-glycemic food that is rBST and RBGH free, Soy-free, Gluten-free, and contains no artificial ingredients.
Seeing avocados and potatoes are some of my daughter’s feel-good / happy foods, I figured I’d whip up a quick and easy Chocolate Avocado Ice cream Smoothie Bowl for her afternoon snack.
Oats, Avocado, Chia seeds and cashews, along with ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Creams in Dark Chocolate Toffee and Dutch Chocolate, lend themselves to the thickness of this smoothie – in a bowl. As we had a ton of berries hanging out in the fridge, and berries and chocolate are just so good together, I topped this bowl with berries, a few slices of bananas, more chias seeds, cashews, some shredded coconut, slices of avocado and melted chocolate – cos melted choclate needs to reason to make an appearance right?!

- 1/2 cup ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream Dutch Chocolate flavor
- 1/2 cup ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream Dark Chocolate Toffee flavor
- 1/4 cup milk of your choice
- 1/2 avocado
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp cashews
- 1/4 cup oats
- For Garnish: more cashews, chia seeds, strawberries, raspberries, wild blueberries, coconut flakes, banana, other half of avocado, melted chocolate and chocolate syrup.
Add ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream Dutch Chocolate flavor, ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream Dark Chocolate Toffee flavor, milk, avocado, chia seeds, cashews, oats to a blender and blend till well incorporated.
Pour into a bowl and place in the fridge for 5 to 10 minutes. I didn't leave it overnight for the chia seeds to absorb the moisture and swell - just so there was more crunch to this.
Top with more cashews, chia seeds, strawberries, raspberries, wild blueberries, coconut flakes, banana, other half of avocado, melted chocolate and chocolate syrup and enjoy.
