Easy Protein Fruitsicles

These Easy Fresh Fruit Popsicles are almost too pretty to eat! The keyword in that sentence is almost!

These colorful and healthy treats are so easy to make.

Just slice up your favorite fresh fruits, fit them into a popsicle mold, fill it with any clear liquid, freeze, and enjoy!

I first made these popsicles in May of 2017. Since then, these have been made several times in our home. When I first made these popsicles, I used Premier Protein’s clear protein drink. But, any clear juice would work just as well.

A friend of mine who worked in a cafe in Mt. Hood, in Oregon, made these fresh fruit popsicles using the same fruits I did. He used apple juice and sprite instead of the clear protein drink I used to fill them up. That summer, he decided to sell those popsicles for $3 each at his cafe and he told me that they were sold out every time they offered them on the menu! Not too shabby eh?!

You will need the following ingredients to make these:

  1. strawberries,
  2. blueberries,
  3. kiwi,
  4. mangoes, and
  5. clear liquid like apple juice, coconut water, or green grape juice.

You will also need a set of popsicle molds and popsicle sticks.

What are the types of fruit you can use in fresh fruit popsicles?

There really aren’t any hard and fast rules as to what fruits you can and cannot use.

I have used strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, peaches, mangoes, papaya, watermelon, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and plums. I prefer to use softer fruits as compared to more crunchy ones as they are delicious and juice to bite into even when frozen.

What are the types of liquid you can use to make these popsicles?

I like to use clear liquids as they show off the fruits best. I have made these popsicles with apple juice, coconut water, and green grape juice. You can also use lemonade or limeade. If you want to give these a bit of a protein boost, then a clear protein drink (like Premier Protein’s clear protein drinks) would work.

However, if you would like to add in a clear soda or sparkling water, please do so.

These Easy Fresh Fruit Popsicles are as much fun to eat as they are to make.

When I first shared these popsicles, my intention was someone somewhere would find this and have a blast making these. This is a fantastic recipe to get kids to help out with. Not only is it easy but it is a fun recipe too.

When I first made these fresh fruit popsicles with my daughter, she especially enjoyed stuffing the fruits into the molds to make these “fruitsicles” AKA Fresh Fruit Popsicles!

We used to love to nibble on these popsicles after a long, hot hike. When my daughter was younger, we made it a point to hike a few trails around our neck of North-ish Georgia and the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.

There was this one year when my daughter suggested we amp up our hiking game. Instead of simply going on a long hike on the weekends, she suggested we try and squeeze two hikes in during the week. During the week, the trails, like this one in Mulberry Park, tend to have fewer people on them and more wildlife (as you can see from the picture collage below). Hiking on these trails midweek makes the hike feel like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of traffic-encrusted Atlanta streets.
