We all know the rhyme “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me”…
Heck, if you were anything like my younger self, you’ve probably said those words more times than you can count using your appendages.
But, words hurt.
Words can tear us down and break us up.
Sometimes, words can inflict so much hurt that healing never comes.
But, words can also do the opposite.
They can lift us up and change our day.
Sometimes, even the course of our lives. Forever.
Valedictorian, Konner Sauve, has shown just how uplifting and life changing positive words can be.
Last night, I came across an article on Huffington Post, that highlighted how this young chap went about uplifting his peers, anonymously, for 11 months!
According to the article, Konner Sauve used an Instagram account under the handle @thebenevolentone3, to post pictures of his peers, along with an incredibly sweet note highlighting their positive attributes.
In his last post, he admitted to being the mastermind behind @thebenevolentone3 and closed with a quote by Maya Angelou,”I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” and an incredibly insightful explanation of why he did what he did and the results of his incredible gesture (you can read this article in detail here).
I am known to be a bit of a sap and this was such an encouraging story, it just warmed the sap in me!

Golden Girl Granola sent me their Chocolate Decadence Granola – and, even though it was pretty delicious just the way it was; I had to doctor it up as I love my granola in cake form. I ground it up, mixed it with eggs, coconut oil and baking powder and threw it all in a skillet – and – out popped this gorgeous cake, 30 minutes later. This can be served as is, or topped with chocolate. We had this for brunch on the weekend,but it can also be dessert or even a snack with your afternoon tea!
