This easy Lemon Sesame Vegetable Saute With Green Giant Veggie Spirals would be a delicious side dish, or, if you are like my daughter, a delightful dinner all on its own!
It used to not always be this way. I used to be able to bring home a kitchen gadget and enjoy it for a couple of years, if not more. But, recently, I seem to have developed this odd knack of burning my way through them. Literally. Coffee makers, handheld mixers, spiralizers, they all come into my home shiny and new. Then, a few months later (sometimes even weeks), they leave abruptly, very often while they are in the middle of being used, with a “phfft”, a burning smell (sometimes) and lights out! Currently, my record is 3 handheld mixers – in 3 months! Last week I was crestfallen to bid adieu to the spiralizer my sister got me for Christmas. 😥
This past weekend while I was walking around Walmart, I was tossing around the idea of getting another spiralizer, when I came across packages of Green Giant® Veggie Spirals! There in the freezer section was my prospective spiralizer’s saving grace! Ever since Ali Maffucci made spiralized veggies a thing, I have enjoyed subbing them in for their pasta counterparts at times. Now, thanks to Green Giant® Veggie Spirals, I can spare the life of another spiralizer!
New Green Giant® Veggie Spirals are the perfect swap-in for traditional pasta. Green Giant® has spirals of zucchini, carrots, butternut squash and (my favorite veggie eva) beets! They are gluten free and come without any sauce or seasoning so you can prepare them just the way you like! Being 100% vegetables, new Green Giant® Veggie Spirals have up to 90% fewer calories than pasta*, making them the perfect swap-in. And, they are pretty perfect as an entrée, a side dish, or soup!
*varieties have 65 percent to 90 percent fewer calories per serving than the leading brand of spaghetti
I brought home packages of Green Giant® Zucchini Spirals and Green Giant® Carrot Spirals (I couldn’t find the beet ones or I’d have included those as well). With those Green Giant® Veggie Spirals I made this easy Lemon Sesame Vegetable Saute with corn and green peas for added color! I have been on a such a caramelized citrus kick recently, so I included caramelized onions and lemon slices as the base of this Lemon Sesame Vegetable Saute. I also threw in some garlic and smoked paprika for flavor and some black sesame seeds for texture. My daughter ate a big bowl of these veggies and called it her dinner, I, however, paired them with some spicy chicken for mine.
Green Giant® Veggie Spirals involve a two step preparation process and can be prepared in your microwave or on your stove top. If you haven’t tried these Green Giant® Veggie Spirals yet, I urge you to do so – they are so versatile and so convenient – aaaaannnnd, if you happen to be a kitchen gadget killer like I am, these could be your saving grace! By the way, you can find more recipe ideas and coupon offers using Green Giant® Veggie Spirals on their Website as well as their Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram pages!
Happy Thursday y’all – here’s hoping your weekend is wonderful and filled with something healthyish and delicious!

Woah! What a cool idea to have spiralized veggies all ready to go like that. I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out for these at my store. I’ll also have to keep an eye out for this recipe in my kitchen! The combination of lemon + smoked paprika in a healthy veggie dish sounds like something that needs to happen. In fact, my mouth is watering thinking about it right now. Sorry to hear about your appliance luck. So far, I’ve had good luck in that department, but several of our kitchen tools are getting kinda up there in age, so I’m sure it’s bound to happen. Hope you have a great day, Shashi!

Oh my gosh, you have a kitchen gadget curse, Shashi!!! Maybe we need to perform a kitchen exorcism over there? LOL! Kidding, I break things a lot too! So don’t feel alone! Anyways, I am DYING over this saute!!! It looks absolutely delicious, my dear! I haven’t seen spiralized veggies at my store… but I’ve never looked. Clearly I need to get on that and start saving myself some prep time! Delicious post, my dear! XO

I could definitely be like your daughter and call this dinner! Or throw an egg on top and way to go! I am constantly struggling with my spiralizer to get the perfect spirals so these veggies would be PERFECT! Plus, how fun are spirals? I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out for these next time I’m in the grocery. I can think of so many uses, but this would be a yummy place to start 😉 Happy Monday, Shashi! XO

I’m still in love with my spiralizer and fortunately it hasn’t failed me yet! I do think these green giant veggie spirals are a great and convenient option though, if you don’t have a spiralizer. As you say, spiralizing your veggies is the perfect substitute for pasta helping to lower those carbs and calories a bit. I’m pinning this as I would quite like to try it with my spiralizer. The green giant veggie spirals aren’t available here yet.
