Six pantry staple ingredients is all you need to enjoy these uniquely spiced Maple Brown Sugar Goldfish Crackers!
Once upon a time, my day job had me in a small satellite office in the North West part of Metro Atlanta. The office didn’t have a restroom on its premises, nor did it have a vending machine or a water fountain.
What it did have though was a group of guys and gals that LOVED food! To eat it, to share it, to give it! Sometimes because of the holidays, but most times, just because.
Some days, I’d walk in to find a Hummingbird cake in the coffee area with an “eat me” sign on it, and some days, it would be a plethora of Goldfish® Crackers scattered all around the coffee machine with a “help yourself” sign on them.
And then there were the random bags of Spiced Nuts – cinnamon brown sugar, honey cardamom, maple chili – each one so titillatingly tasty I had a hard time sharing them with my daughter when I bought one of those bags home.
Recently, my daughter and I were reminiscing about those bags of spiced nuts, when she suggested we should give out gifts of spiced nuts this Christmas instead of cookies, and I couldn’t help but agree!
But, why did we have to wait until December to enjoy Spiced Nuts?!
As I was about to make us a batch of Maple Brown Sugar Spiced Nuts, I realized we didn’t have any nuts, but what we did have a was a Multi-pack of Goldfish® Crackers that I had picked up from Walmart earlier.
As I adore the salty crunch of Pretzel Goldfish® Crackers, I figured I would bake them (instead of nuts) with some maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon and cardamom and see how they turned out.
And guess what? My daughter grabbed a handful of those Maple Brown Sugar Goldfish® Crackers as soon as I grabbed them out of the oven and disappeared into her room.
She appeared again as soon as I was done taking these pictures and she grabbed the rest of these Maple Brown Sugar Goldfish® Crackers and said they were too good for her to be sharing them with me!
