A Shoe Is A Shoe Is A Shoe…Or Is It?

Happy, Happy New Year Y’all! I know the beginning of the year was almost a week ago – but, seeing this is my first post for the year – I just wanted to say I hope everyone’s 2015 is off to healthy and happy start.

Oftentimes, the beginning of a new year helps some folks reassess and reset their minds – whether it be goals or resolutions,- they tend to reflect on what they were doing and resolve to do things better than before. For most people, this is an easy task, but for some -like me- it’s not quite as easy. You see – I tend to be a little hard headed at times – some might even say pig headed! In certain instances, I tend to listen to what advice is so generously shared with me and then, I go off and do my own thing.

For instance, I love to run – it is my mental escape, my mind de-befuddler – but, when temperatures drop and my Sri Lankan roots start showing, I tend to limit my runs to ones indoors on a noisy treadmill, or, when my current headphones refuse to co-operate, I turn to workout DVD’s or strength and cross training workouts. And while I have grown to enjoy these little breaks from running, my feet haven’t been quite so thrilled. Well meaning friends have often told me that I should reserve my running shoes for running and not cross training – but, hard headed me has just tossed their comments over my shoulder like spilled salt!

But – fate intervened and I was presented with the opportunity to try the New Asics GEL-Fit Sana™ Training Shoes!! Hard headed me gave in and figured that it was time to reconsider my old adage of “a shoe is a shoe”!

I am not one for fashion – but my daughter informed me that this is one sleek and fashionable shoe! However, it isn’t just easy on the eyes, this shoe features a “Flexible Fit System with flexible support bands from heel to forefoot” that provide support no matter if I was doing walking lunges or weighted burpees or walking in a park. #FITwithASICS

Weighing in at 5.6oz, this studio cushioned training shoe was also lightweight and it’s smooth inner lining and lightweight, low-profile midsole fitted my foot like a glove while providing an almost barefoot-like sensation!

If you are looking for a good training shoe – the fashionable, versatile and lightweight ASICS GEL-Fit Sana™ is definitely worth consideration!

With that said – do your workouts change depending on the weather?
