Salmon is coated with fresh lemon juice, freshly grated ginger, and a smattering of zaatar and then pan-roasted until it’s lightly seared and fabulously flaky.

Ingredients

  • Oil
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 inch knob of ginger - peeled and grated
  • 1 tsp zaatar
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Cut the lemon in half and cut off 3-4 slices from one half.
  • Peel the ginger and grate it until you have approx 1 tsp
  • Then, add oil to the pan and place over medium heat.
  • Add in lemon slices and let saute a minute or so and prep salmon fillets
  • Squeeze lemon juice over salmon
  • Sprinkle 1/ tsp zaatar and ½ tsp ginger and place in pan with seasoned side of salmon fillets facing down. Let cook for about 3-4 minutes or until a nice sear has formed.
  • Sprinkle other side of salmon fillets with lemon juice, remaining zaatar, and ginger, and flip fillets over. Let cook another 3-4 minutes or until seared.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Remove from the heat and let sit in the pan for about 5 minutes before enjoying.
