If you're looking for unique savory smores ideas, these Spicy Baked S'mores are for you! Made with gooey toasted marshmallows, rich chocolate, crunchy graham crackers, and a surprising kick of heat, these baked s'mores deliver the perfect balance of sweet, smoky, spicy, and chocolatey flavors. They are easy to make in the oven and ideal for parties, backyard gatherings, movie nights, and summer celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 6 graham cracker rectangles broken into ½ for a total of 12
  • 6 chocolate squares I used Ghirardelli
  • 6 large marshmallows
  • 6-8 roasted/grilled red chiliesand/or jjalapeños

Instructions

  • First off, prepare the red chilies/jalapeños. Slice them in half, and carefully remove as many of the seeds as you can. If you like it super spicy, then leave the seeds in.
IF PAN-ROASTING: add a bit of oil to a pan and pan-roast them until they are charred (about 3 minutes, then flip and char on the other side as well).
IF BROILING: Pre-heat the broiler to 525, then place the cut chilies/jalapeños on a foil-lined baking tray and broil for 3-5 minutes. Remove and carefully flip the chilies/jalapeños over and broil for another 3-5 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to assemble into s'mores.
  • Make sure the broiler is set to 525.
  • Place the graham cracker squares on a foil-lined baking tray. I like to use foil as it is easy to clean everything up.
  • Then place a chocolate square on top of each.
  • Place a roasted chili/jalapeño on top of the chocolate and then place a marshmallow on top .
  • Place the baking tray with s'mores under the broiler and let it broil for about 4-6 minutes. Keep an eye on the marshmallows as each oven differs, and with some, 4 minutes could be too long. You just want a golden hue to your marshmallows.
  • Remove from the oven, top with a remaining graham cracker square and enjoy!
