Cumin, coriander, and smoked paprika along with Warsteiner beer (or any other pilsner)make this chana dal sloppy joe dinner one heck of a filling and tasty one!
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ red onion - chopped
- 3 cloves garlic - smashed and chopped
- 1 green bell pepper - chopped
- 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes - drained well
- ½ cup tomato paste
- 1 ½ cups cooked chana dal
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon chili powder optional - adjust according to your taste
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¾ cup Warsteiner beer or any other pilsner beer
- Salt and pepper to taste
Get Recipe Ingredients
Add onions and olive oil to a pan over medium heat and let onions cook - stirring frequently for about 12 minutes
Add in garlic and chopped green bell pepper and saute about 3 more minutes
Add in the drained diced tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, coriander, chili, smoked paprika and stir
Pour in the beer and stir well.
Cover, lover flame/stove temp and let cook for about 10 more minutes
