As far as trends go, the Dubai chocolate bar one is one that I find irresistible. The Dubai Chocolate trend led to the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cups. These are basically fresh strawberries smothered in rich pistachio cream, crispy toasted kataifi, and melted chocolate.
Well, this Air Fryer Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Galette takes the elements of the viral Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup and layers them with a buttery, flaky pie crust!
Whether you’re looking for an easy summer dessert, a quick family treat, or a unique dessert that will be a crowd-pleaser, this galette delivers.
By making this simple dessert in the air fryer, we have a delicious galette without turning on the oven. However, if you don’t have an air fryer, you don’t need to go out and buy one, as I have details on how to bake this in the oven, in the recipe card below.
Why This Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Galette Works
- A delicious balance of flavors and textures with the perfect amount of sweetness
- Easy enough for beginner bakers
- Ready in just 7 minutes in the air fryer
- Is made with convenient Wicks Pie Toppers

Ingredients and Substitutions
- Fresh strawberries
Strawberries are in season right now, so fresh ripe juicy strawberries are easy to find. If you want to add raspberries (or any other berries), go right ahead. I would not use frozen strawberries in this as they will let out a lot of liquid when baked/air fryer, making the pie crust a bit soggy. Also, make sure to wash these fruits very well. I usually rinse strawberries under cold running water. Then I dunk them in a large bowl filled with cold water and a quarter cup of vinegar for about 2 minutes. Then, drain the water, rinse the strawberries again and I set them out on kitchen towels to dry. - Sugar
The sugar is to add to the strawberries. You - Pistachio butter
I used my homemade pistachio butter. It isn’t sweetened so it balances out the milk chocolate and sweetened berries. However, pistachio cream or store-bought pistachio butter work as well. Costco has a large bottle of Pisti brand pistachio cream for $12.00 that is perfect for this recipe too. - Kataifi
Kataifi is similar to shredded phyllo dough. When toasted, it lends a nice crunch to this galette. I get kataifi from Amazon. It is also available in some Middle Eastern and International grocery stores. You can also get a mixture of kataifi and pistachio butter from Amazon and use some of it for this recipe and some of it to make these Dubai Chocolate Cups, this Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake, or this Dubai Chocolate roll cake. Or, the toasted knife can be left out and you could use some pistachio nuts instead. - Butter
The butter I used is a plant based one and I only used a little bit to toast the kataifi. If (as mentioned above) you leave out the kataifi, then the butter is not necessary. - Egg
I used the egg for the egg wash so the sides of the folded galette would be golden brown when air fried/baked. Instead, milk can also be used. Though, milk doesn’t result in as golden a pastry. - Milk chocolate
I melted some dairy-free milk chocolate to use on this version. But, I also made a mini one with sugar-free dark chocolate. So, feel free to use the kind of chocolate you prefer. - Wick’s Pie Topper
Having Wick’s frozen pie crusts in the freezer makes it easy to grab one to use to make a dessert galette or a savory dinner galette like this zucchini one.

Instructions
Step 1: Toast the Kataifi
Mix the kataifi with 1 teaspoon butter. Toast in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown and crispy. Allow it to cool slightly.
Step 2: Make the Filling
Set aside 1/2 a teaspoon of the toasted kataifi and stir the rest of it into the pistachio cream or butter until evenly mixed.
Step 3: Prepare the Strawberries
Wash, soak, rinse, and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Slice them and sprinkle with the sugar.

Step 4: Assemble the Galette
Spread the pistachio mixture over the center of the Wicks Pie Toppers, leaving about a 1½-inch border around the edge.
Arrange the sliced strawberries evenly over the pistachio mixture.
Would You Like to Save This?
Fold the edges of the pastry over the strawberries, leaving the center exposed.
Brush the pastry with the beaten egg. I sprinkled on some chopped pistachios onto the pie.
Step 5: Air Fry
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
Place the galette on a parchment-lined air fryer tray or basket. Make sure that any excess parchment is removed so it doesn’t touch the heating element as this could lead to a fire.
Air fry for 6-7 minutes, or until the crust is beautifully golden and crisp.
Oven Instructions
Bake in an oven preheated to 400°F for approximately 25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

Serve
Once the galette has cooled slightly, drizzle generously with melted chocolate and pistachio cream or butter. Garnish with chopped pistachios, and any leftover toasted kataifi and serve immediately.
You could also sprinkle on some flaky sea salt and chopped chocolate on top, along with fresh berries.
Tips for the Best Strawberry Galette
- Dry the strawberries well so the crust stays crisp.
- Toast the kataifi until deep golden for maximum crunch.
- Serve warm while the chocolate is still soft and glossy.
- Add chopped pistachios for extra texture and color.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this in the oven?
Yes! Bake at 400°F for about 25 minutes until the crust is golden.
Can I use dark chocolate?
Absolutely. Both milk and dark chocolate work beautifully with the strawberries and pistachio butter.
Can I make this ahead?
The galette is best enjoyed fresh. I would advise against this being made ahead. In fact, I have tried storing leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple of days and this galette doesn’t store well. The crust turns a bit soggy, the chocolate hardens, and the strawberries weep a bit.
