    1. 🙂 Thanks so much Cynthia! This was a nice break from the traditional royal icing covered sweet house.

  6. OMG, Shashi, this is seriously SO clever!!!! I am loving that “gingerbread house”! The house on its own is too cute, but the crackers you put in it sound amazing!! Gouda and rosemary?! YEEEEESSS! You are a creative genius, my friend! And I must try Graham cracker cucumber sammies, that actually sounds delish! Cheers, my friend!

  7. A savoury gingerbread house!??! Stuffed with crackers?!?! That totally puts all my candy-based gingerbread houses to shame! Have I mentioned before that I adore your creativity? 😉 And I’ve never tried to make my own crackers before, but it’s definitely on the to-do list. And the combination of gouda and rosemary is out.of.this.world good. Great recipe, Shashi!

That’s one heck of a house! I’m so bad at gingerbread houses, though in my defense I’ve only ever made one once so… perhaps with practice I’d get better ha. Love cucumber+cream cheese, but haven’t tried it on crackers. I’ll take your word for it–it’s probably delicious!

    1. Yes – practice definitely helps – my first one didn’t even resemble a house – more like a toga tent! GAH!!!
Happy New Year Erin and thank you! 🙂

Hahaha! I love that your gingerbread house uses cucumber slices. I wouldn’t expect anything less from you, Shashi! (Except maybe some beets for the door next time?) 🙂 My mom makes gingerbread houses every year using graham crackers. This post totally takes me back! But let’s talk about these crackers. I just made a batch of crackers the other day, and now I’m totally wishing I had put gouda in there. Gouda is gooood. Excellent holiday recipe, my ATL friend!

    1. Oh shucks – beets for a door – now that’s a fantastic idea! I wish I had thought of that!!! Well next year there’s gonna have to be beets on the door! 🙂
Gouda is excellent indeed and I’m willing to bet your mom’s houses are beyond excellent!
Thanks for being such an incredibly supportive friend through 2015, David!

    1. Thanks so much Muna – I am so honored and humbled – thanks for commenting – happy New Year!

  12. We have a gingerbread competition every year at our house and we always use Honey Maid 🙂 And these crackers are dynamyte!

    1. Kristen I love the idea of a gingerbread house competition! Sounds like so much fun – I am gonna have to pitch that idea to my family!
By the way – thanks so very much!
