Can you imagine Thomas’® Cinnamon Raisin English Muffins playing the role of toast in French toast? Ooh, all those spices used in the milk or eggnog soak like cinnamon, cardamom, etc. would get caught up in the nooks and crannies texture of Thomas’® English Muffins ~ making for one heck of a tasty and satisfying spin on French toast.
My friends, I speak not from imagination but from experience!
Thomas’® English Muffins have been making the rounds through my meals since my early college years. Back then, I used to enjoy Thomas’® English Muffins lightly toasted so they were deliciously crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I loved their texture so much, I wouldn’t even entertain the thought of smearing them with butter.
But breakfast wasn’t the only meal I enjoyed them at. There were some days when I would top them with a smidge of whipped cream and strawberry jam and enjoy them as dessert.
These days, my daughter and I love to enjoy Thomas’® English Muffins lightly toasted with a smidge of cream cheese and fresh fruit for breakfast or a snack. During the holiday season, we throw in some candied cherries for a bit of festivity! Every now and then, I make English muffin French toast with Thomas’® Cinnamon Raisin English Muffins.
Thomas’® English Muffins are also delicious with some soup or stew too – their texture makes them perfect to sop up leftover soup and stew at the bottom of a bowl.
Thomas’® tradition of taste and quality has been going strong since 1880. Super versatile and deliciously toppable, Thomas’® English Muffins come in a variety of flavors and sizes. Click the image below to add them right to your Walmart Online Grocery cart.
A few weekends ago, I was feeling a bit tired after an early morning trip to Walmart. As I stood in my kitchen wishing I had a clone to make me a batch of English muffin French toasts, surprisingly, an idea popped into my head.
So, instead of standing over a stove and flipping over these English Muffin French Toasts, I did the following steps I usually do to make French toast:
– Hand split the Thomas’® Cinnamon Raisin English Muffins
– Then, dunk each half into an eggnog (to keep things festive) or milk and spices mix.
-Place them in an oven safe baking tray and bake them for a super easy English muffin French toast bake.
You will only need 6 ingredients:
- Thomas’® Cinnamon Raisin English Muffins
- Eggnog
- cinnamon
- cloves
- cardamom
- Cream cheese
This English Muffin French Toast Bake is so easy to make. The cranberries are completely optional – I added them in to make this a festive holiday breakfast dish. And, you can substitute pumpkin pie spice for the cinnamon + cardamom + cloves. You can also add in 2 eggs to the eggnog/milk + spices – I left them out to accommodate my daughter’s dietary needs.
