  1. The flavors already caught my attention. Loooove anything with cardamom, Shashi! And these cookies are also both gluten and sugar-free. I will have to try this recipe of yours!

  2. I took two months off sugar once, just to see what it would be like. It was just kind of boring and flat. No withdrawal, but food wasn’t as fun. But I’m glad it helped you feel better!
    These cookies look amazing!

    1. Oh wow – you are my idol! I had withdrawl the first couple of weeks – good thing I wasn’t your neighbor or I would have been raiding your kitchen and fridge for ALL your decadent treats!

  3. Clearly this learning business doesn’t! I’m sorry to hear that those prescribed meds led to so many troubles. It’s really good to hear that things are turning around for you. 🙂 Sometimes the holistic approach is all ya need to give your life the positive change you need. I totally applaud you for leaving the bakery empty-handed. Thank you for inspiring all of us to trim the amount of sugar in our diets down a bit. These cookies look amazing, Shashi! <3

  4. Love the combination of these cookies and can’t believe that they are sugar free! I’ve never tried to cut out sugar completely, but with cookies like these I would imagine that it makes things a lot easier 😉 !
I don’t eat a lot of sweets. Though, I do eat fruit regularly. Everyone once in a while I’ll get a craving for cookies or cake and this would be perfect to reach for! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

    1. Dawn, I used to get a craving for cookies and cakes multiple times a day – funny how we are so different in our cravings eh? Btw, thanks so much – I hope your week has been wonderful!

  5. These sound so good! I’ve tried a few stevia sweeteners and I find they give a metallic aftertaste – it’s interesting to read that this one doesn’t. I’ll have to give it a go!

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting – yes, Splenda Naturals does not have a bitter taste at all and one packet is plenty sweet enough – at least for me.

  6. Yum!

Shashi, these remind me of when Lynne and I were on honeymoon in Kenya.

There were lots of different cakes and biscuits to try out in our hotel restaurant. It was unusual for us to eat cakes and biscuits which were spiced, rather than sweetened with sugar, and I remember tasting the beautiful cardamom. Great tasting memories. Thanks for the memory jog! 🙂

    1. You are so welcome Neil! Sounds like Kenyan sweets have a lot in common with Sri Lankan ones as it was rare for me to not have a cake or cookie that wasn’t flavored with some sort of spice mix. 🙂
