  1. There you go taunting me with that delicious bowl of oats againโ€ฆ and pancakes?! Girlllllโ€ฆ great minds definitely think alike! I’ve been loving my oat pancakes lately, although I’m usually making them for dinner because flipping takes too much coordination early in the morning.

Happy Monday, lovely lady! I hope your week is full of oaty, peanut buttery, and chocolatey goodness <3

    1. Hehe – I know what you mean! I have a confession though, sometimes I make extra pancakes so there are pancakes for the next morning and the next ๐Ÿ™‚ Usually, this only happens in the summer, when I don’t need a bowl of oats to keep me warm in the morn.
Hope your week is off to a wonderful start <3

  2. Those are some of the fluffiest pancakes I’ve seen and it’s healthy, you did it again.

  3. I also love oats. I try to add it into a lot of dishes… just learned it’s good in smoothies. ๐Ÿ™‚ These pancakes look lovely! I shall have to make an extra large batch… my kids dual forks over who gets what all the time.

  4. First Amanda and now you. Dammit I really crave some pancakes, but it’s too much fuss in the morning for me and I bought all these interesting French foods to try, that I feel bad if I whip up something new before using them up… on the list, on the list. I hope I can make them for a weekend brinner!

  5. Love the idea of oatmeal pancakes, wonder if my blender will grind the oats fine enough so it becomes flour. Must try these they look fluffy and delicious.

      1. Well hopefully mine will do it, going to make these tomorrow. Have a very busy day and these will be a really good breakfast for me. Will let you know how I do.

          1. They turned out great, I used regular cows milk instead of almond milk because thats what I had, added some blueberries. YUM, delicious pancakes, actually prefer to those made with wheat flour. Great recipe will be using this over and over again. Want to adapt to make waffles too!

          2. Suzanne thats awesome! Thanks so much for letting me know – I thought of you this morning and even checked your blog to see if you posted bout it. So so glad you liked them and it made my day to hear you will be making these again – THANK YOU!

  6. Pancakes worth a mum-and-daughter fight?! These have to be good! How about pretending you hadn’t lost the fight but just being a selfless mum leaving the best for your daughter :)?!
I’m actually not a pancake person but your bowl of oatmeal really caught my eye. What’s in there? Topped with just the right amount of nut butter and chocolate chips it looks almost too naughty for breakfast. Almost. Because breakfast obviously just is another term for dessert time.

    1. Hehe – yes, I like your though process – yes, selfless was what I was being ๐Ÿ˜‰
And breakfast IS another term for dessert! BRILLIANT!
The bowl of oats had oats cooked in almond milk, salt, cinnamon, vanilla protein powder, all topped with peanut butter and chocolate -in it.

  7. I am completely obsessed with oats of any kind too – they are the best! Love the sound of these pancakes – I can see why you two would be fighting for the last bite! : )

  8. I love oats in any form and these pancakes look absolutely mouthwatering Shashi! They are totally worth fighting over for!:) I love the way you draped the almond butter and honey over these too! Pinning and can’t wait to try this ๐Ÿ™‚ Yum!!

    1. Thanks Kelly – the almond butter lent so much to the taste of these pancakes! That and the honey – there’s no sugar in these pancakes,so the honey complemented these well.

  9. These look good – I’ve been waiting for the recipe and it didn’t disappoint!!
Bummer that you made them and only got 1 – oh, wait- kid(s) vs mom!!!

    1. Kim – I am proud to say I got 1.25 ! Oh yeah! ๐Ÿ™‚
I was going off of what I put in my oats and was too lazy to make more, but next time I know to double the quantities.

  10. I’d fight over these too haha. They look too good!
Do you think that it’d work if I didn’t grind the oats? I want to try them, but I don’t feel like washing the blender afterwards. Too lazy, I know hahaha ;–)

  11. Nom nom nom, I am not normally a fan of pancakes but these look amazing! I would also be dueling forks if I was your daughter. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If I can just reach into my screen and grab a chocolate chip, then I will be a very happy girl.

  12. Wow, if I had not seen the pictures of this oat pancakes I would not believe that they are so light and fluffy…they look gorgeous. I love the idea of topping it with almond butter.
Have a wonderful week Shashi ๐Ÿ˜€

  13. Girl, you’ve got it goin’ on! Love, love, love this post for all sorts of reasons. There’s oats, there’s chocolate and peanut butter. And, pancakes! There’s even mother-daughter love…and dueling forks. Thanks you for sharing, m’lady! xo

  14. Oh my goodness!! i love oatmeal. Can’t get enough of it and love it in just about everything. These pancakes look delicious. I would be fork fighting to get me some of these ๐Ÿ˜€

  15. The pancakes look delicious, but I want some of that bowl and bar, please! Oats and chocolate together is pretty much heaven on earth!

  16. Now that’s a delicious looking plate of pancakes. And so healthy too! Of course I would slather them in butter and maple syrup which defeats the purpose. I’m so wanting these pancakes right now! Delicious!!!

  17. Mm, my wife made some of these before (though without the spice) so I can attest to them being delicious and definitely something worth fighting over. Good call on the adding of the spices – bet that kicks it up a notch!

  18. The pancakes look wonderful! I will definitely have to give them a try! I have been making pancaking using almond meal, mashed bananas and eggs. Dairy, sugar and gluten free and the best thing is that the kids love them!

    1. Thanks so much!
I made some similar to yours, I added nuts too and my daughter polished her plate…I am beginning to think I could disguise anything in pancake form andshe will eat it – maybe kale pancakes should be next? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  19. looks incredible… Lovely recipe and yes this is yet another yummy way to have oatmeal… Hope you don’t mind if i share this on my instagram… I will ping you there..

  20. Oats are such a good food, and making pancakes with them is a fabulous idea. I love the thought of duelling forks, and a hopeful looking dog willing on the aftermath of pancake wars. They must be good if they are worth a battle over.

  21. These pancakes look incredible, Shashi! Seriously! And you know what’s funny? I was actually thinking about making a batch of pancakes or waffles this weekend. We have some good maple syrup in the pantry that’s calling my name, and I think I just found a way to use some of it. I love the idea of oats as the base for these pancakes, too. Excellent photos, my friend! Hope you gals are doing well!

  22. Thanks for re-posting this awesome recipe Shashi. Your pictures are stunning and your recipe is just oh so tantalizing! I make a slightly similar Scottish Oat Pancakes recipe, that I was going to have this weekend. I think I’d much rather have yours instead, Yummy!!

  23. So happy you updated these photos, Shashi! That just means I get the chance to see a MOST delectable post that I’ve never seen before. And let me tell you, they are GORGEOUS!! Btw, how did you know I was hankering for a tall, talllll stack of pancakes? And of course, oatmeal is one of my favorite foods to eat ever… so these are totally calling my name! Pinned, of course! xo

  24. I guess I didn’t see this recipe as it was originally posted in 2014, so thank you for updating it. I did enjoy it – the story how you handled those 3 pancakes is hilarious! And these oat pancakes are seriously delicious ๐Ÿ˜‰

  25. I’m glad you reposted these because I must have missed them the first time around–they look amazing!!! *-* I love gorgeous stacks of pancakes, hahah. <3 I think I actually have everything I need to be able to make them too! So excited to try em'!

  26. Thank you for this – these are fabulous! Though nutritious, honey and maple syrup are also sugar. Next time I’d add some ground hazelnut and flax and some vanilla.

  27. I found your recipe because my kids LOVE pancakes, like eat them everyday, sometimes twice a day love them, but I ran out of flour and could not get to the store before breakfast. I’m giving this a try this morning!

  28. I found this recipe this morning and made it for my family. My 16 year old daughter, who has a gluten sensitivit, gave them the thumbs up. And just like that they are now in our rotation. I didnโ€™t alter anything (I never do the first time) but i am looking forward to adding fruit. Thanks for an easy and tasty recipe.

  29. So….did no one but me notice that 2 Tblsp baking powder written in the recipe is WAY too much?
I know because I tried the recipe as written and itโ€™s wrong! Iโ€™m thinking it should be equal to the salt or MAYBE 1 teaspoon but definitely NOT 2 Tablespoons.

    1. Hey Lori you are so right! I re-published this recipe and in re-typing the recipe, I ended up putting in “2 tbspns” instead of “2 tspns” – totally my typo error – Thank you so much for catching it – 2 tbspns would be gagerific!

  30. Hi, was researching many EASY oatmeal pancakes, picked yours because it was one of the few genuinely easy ones. Made batches of each recipe. Yours was the one that blew us away. I absolutely LOVE keeping things simple. Your recipe manages that and also is delicious. The pancakes are airy, taseful, spongy. My husband requested raisins on his… it was a nice little tweak. Been cooking for 40 yrs and this is the 1st time I’ve ever felt the need to let the recipe creator know how much I appreciate this recipe. Have sent the link to all my friends. This recipe is amazing, my goodness. I may never eat anything else again. Thanks for the recipe. Take care

  31. Hi there!
We made these this morning and loved them- except…. is the baking powder quantity a typo? When I made them I thought 2 tbsp seems like a ton of baking powder so I put maybe half in but they still had a distinct baking powder taste. Just wondering if this was intentional or not? I will try them again with less baking powder as I love oat flour in any type of baking!

    1. Katelyn – thank you for calling this out – I re-published this recipe and somehow ended up adding in “tbspn” instead of “tspn” – I am so incredibly sorry – 2 teaspoons work fine in these pancakes. If you use a pancake mold, you get a higher rise to them (I’ve experimented with that just not for these pictures.) Thanks again – I hope you give these a try again… maybe…
If you like oat flour goodies, these muffins are a fav in our home currently https://savoryspin.com/gluten-free-lemon-muffins-2/

      1. Thank you for getting back to me. That makes way more sense! I will definitely try those muffins. Thank you!

  32. mine weren’t as fluffy as yours but i like them a lot. i am thinking i’ll make the next time without cinn or nutmeg and use like a wrap. what do you think.

    1. I’m so glad you liked them – I haven’t tried them as a wrap but I can see how they might work – would you spread them out much more in the cooking process” If so, they’d be thinner and probably would work well as a wrap… do let me know how they turn out if you get a chance…

      1. will do. i’ve frozen what i made last week and took out one at a time. i really like the flavor and texture.

        1. hi again. i made the no spice version this AM. I did 1/2 your recipe and I added 3 tsp of ground flax meal and 3 tsp wheat germ for some added nutrition. tasted just like a non spiced pancake and had some chew too. I loved them.
i allowed the batter to sit in the refrigerator for about 1/2 hour to thicken up more and that made it much thicker. not tried it yet as a wrap. if do, will let you know. love the recipe.

  36. I made these this morning before school. It was my first time making my own pancakes, and they were awesome! Thanks for your sharing!

  39. Oh my god these pancakes are amazing on so many levels!! Also a huge fan of oats in shakes, cookies, cereal anything! So these definitely rocked my world! Added 1/4 cup of chocolate chips to half the recipe. So great!! Thank you!

  40. I decided to half the recipe and I barely measured anything and they still turned out delicious. Hard to go wrong with oats and pancakes, much less oats IN pancakes! Perfect recipe for customizing and playing with, thanks.

  41. The recipe is simple, but your article is interesting. I like pancake but havenโ€™t tried oatmeal before, I saved the recipe and make it for my brunch sometime. Thanks for the post.

  42. I was really excited to try these because Iโ€™m gluten free and I also never liked just white flour. They were great! Very fluffy which is usually lacking in โ€˜alternativeโ€™ pancakes. Man they are filling! Donโ€™t make them just for yourself . I was wondering if you think I can freeze extra batter?..

  43. We love pancakes and have enjoyed your pumpkin, blueberry, and plain ones, but this one became our new favorite! Thank you for the great new recipes. Your website has become our go to recipe box!

  44. I was excited to try these but they didnโ€™t turn out. The batter did not thicken up after 10 or even 15 minutes. I coked them anyway and they were flat…as a pancake. Nothing like the pictures. Texture was thick and chewy, flavor was good. Maybe my blender didnโ€™t blend well enough?

    1. So sorry to hear this Linda – I’ve made these pancakes many many times and never had an issue. Maybe the blender – maybe the oats? Maybe the baking powder was expired?

  45. I loved these pancakes. They are quick and easy to make. The only thing that i would change is the thickness of the batter. It is quite thin.

  46. Just tried these in a locked down South Africa during the Covid-19 crisis (we find ourselves without flour) and this brought some cheer into our kitchen! Delicious (we went savory… unbelievable with caramelized onions, coriander and chopped chillies!).

    Thank you!

  47. Going gluten free for my 6 year old. Who woke up and asked for pancakes!
Quick search and I found your recipe.
    Quick, simple and easy.
    A success!

    1. I’m so glad these worked for you and your 6 year old! Thanks so much for stopping by to let me know! Hope y’all stay well.

  48. These turned out amazing! Definitely the best โ€˜healthyโ€™ pancake recipe Iโ€™ve tried. Minimal ingredients, and so easy to make. Thanks so much! Iโ€™ve got this bookmarked ๐Ÿ™‚

  49. These turned out great! The whole kitchen smelled amazing! I added extra cinnamon and I believe I didn’t let them sit long enough before cooking because the first four pancakes came out rather thin and this amount actually made 7 or 8 pancakes. while making the first three one at a time the batter began to thicken so the last 4 were thicker and fluffier but they didn’t look s fluffy as yours but I tried to take a short cut and blend the eggs with the milk so I think that had something to do with it. Thank you for the recipe! I was so happy to find an oatmeal pancake recipe that didn’t require bananas ๐Ÿ™‚

  50. These are better than regular pancakes. They can get a bit dry if not using syrup though I usually put peanut butter on them ๐Ÿ™‚

  51. I was disappointed with these pancakes (although my two-year-old wasn’t!). I followed the recipe exactly, and the pancakes were super flat, not at all fluffy. I know my baking powder is fresh, so it wasn’t that. The batter was extremely thin and soupy even after sitting for over 15 minutes. I also thought the cinnamon flavor was much too overt. After making several rounds of super flat pancakes, I added about 1/3 cup brown rice flour, 2 tablespoons flaxmeal, and 3/4 tsp baking powder. After that, they were nice and fluffy.

    1. I have not tried this recipe with a flax egg – but I might over the weekend and post that recipe next week.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

  52. Just tried it and they turned out lovely! Just left out the nutmeg bcz Iโ€™m personally not a fan. Thanks for this recipe! โ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ

  53. These were absolutely marvelous! It gives me enjoyment about cooking in the kitchen again. Following the recipe, I ended up with 10 pancakes. My husband had no idea they were gluten free. Thank you for sharing your recipe and for the renewed hope in enjoying food as everyone should. God Bless, Nikki #kitchenblessings

  54. I just made these awesome pancakes! I did add a bit of oil and brown sugar plus flax seed. I add flax seed to almost everything. TYVM definitely a keeper. God bless!

  55. Haha – I just finished eating a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, and now I want these oat pancakes! I didn’t realize you could make pancakes entirely with oats. I’m totally trying these out sometime soon – the maple syrup has been staring at me lately! ๐Ÿ™‚

  56. I have made these many times though I make them as waffles. Today I added 1/2 cup of pure pumpkin, 1/8 teaspoon of cloves and cardamom. They were delicious! Perfect for fall.

  57. These were just what I was looking for. No flour, gluten-free. I added some walnuts, halved the milk and added plain yogurt. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. Yum!

  58. This totally feeds my need for pancakes with NO flour and NO added sugar. Good enough without any toppings at all. Which is what I did. YUM!

  59. MMM. You bet I did! I was looking for pancakes without flour or any kind of added sweetener and found this gem. I started making it as soon as the page came off my printer LOL OMGoodness, I ate a few as soon as they came off the pan and did not even add a topping. SO GLAD I discovered this site!

    1. Hi Chanel, I just wanted to say thanks so very much for taking the time to write me a review on my oat pancakes. Your kind words made my day! I am thrilled you love these

  60. I absolutely love these and eat them all the time. I’m gluten free and find they’re great with poached eggs instead of toast. I was wondering if you can freeze them.

  61. Wow! These are amazing! I was searching for a no-flour, no-added-sugar pancake recipe and this one exceeded all my expectations. Made them right away and they were delicious even without any toppings. Will definitely be making these a regular part of my breakfast routine. So happy I found this recipe!
