Cheese Finger Breadsticks and Roasted Red Pepper Dip
These Cheese Finger Breadsticks and Roasted Red Pepper Dip make for some fun conversations at Halloween or any other spooky party or get-together.

These finger breadsticks are just plain fun to make and enjoy. They are a tasty treat no matter if you are making a batch for Halloween, or just because. Though, if you are making a batch for the latter, maybe leave the gory “almond” nails off?
Even though these take a bit of time to make because of the proofing, the extra time is so well worth it.
Depending on where in this big ‘ol world you are, the celebrations around Halloween have fascinated me.

Some say that Halloween originated from the Irish celebration of Samhain. Samhain was said to be a pagan spiritual festival celebrated between October 31st and to welcome the harvest and the beginning of the “dark months.” People who celebrated it believed that during Samhain, there was more interaction between spirits and humans as barriers between the physical world and the spirit world broke down during this time.
In Guatemala, people celebrate Barriletes Gigantes around Halloween, by flying giant, hand-painted kites over the graves of loved ones as the kites are said to be a bridge between the living and the dead.
November 1st marks the celebration of All Saints Day in Italy, and different regions have different traditions around these celebrations; in Sicily, well-behaved children are brought gifts from deceased loved ones; in Sardinia, children go door to door to ask for offerings from the deceased; in Rome, families gather to eat a meal at the gravesites of loved ones who have passed; and in Abruzzo and Trentino, people walk around with lanterns made by placing candles in pumpkins.
And, in Mexico, the celebration of el Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, which dates back almost 3000 years, takes place on Nov. 1 and 2. During this celebration, people wear skull masks and sample skull shaped sweets as they celebrate the opening of the gates of heaven, which is said to lead to the reunion of spirits of the deceased with living loved ones.
And, speaking of Halloween, I have these simple breadsticks recipe with a creepy spin for yall!
